Plantar Fasciitis Socks: Relief When Plantar Fasciitis Strikes

Are you suffering from heel pain?  Chances are you have plantar fasciitis. Often, heel pain is due to plantar fasciitis, which results from inflammation in the tissues that connect the heel bone and toes. This inflammation can cause pain in one or both feet.

Treatment for plantar fasciitis can take many forms.  From anti-infammatory medications and insoles on one side of the spectrum to surgery on the other.  One of the many ways to treat plantar fasciitis includes plantar fasciitis socks.  These socks are non-invasive, affordable and effective.

Plantar fasciitis socks tend to take two forms:

1) A compression garment like the Powerstep PF Sleeve.  These socks work in several ways.  They reduce inflammation by providing better blood flow.  Good blood flow is essential to remove toxins and get healing oxygen to the affected area.  These socks also apply pressure and provide support to the plantar fascia.  Supporting the plantar fasciitis lessens the likelihood of strain on the tissue.

2) Night socks like the Powerstep UltraStretch Night Sock.  These socks work by gently stretching the plantar fascia while you sleep allowing it to heal in a stretched position.  Normally, when you sleep, the plantar fascia constricts.  When you wake up in the morning and take those first steps, the plantar fascia suddenly stretches and causes micro tears that are very painful.  These socks reduce and even prevent that from happening.

Plantar fasciitis can affect children and adults alike because it can result from any of the following conditions.

  1. Obesity
  2. Pregnancy
  3. Aging
  4. Standing for a long period
  5. Lifting heavy things
